GENERAL FAQ

1. What are the Physical Requirements of Golf and why?

Golf requires strength, flexibility, cardio, power, endurance, and balance. Here are a few ways these requirements effect your game:

Strength: Your core controls your body movements and is critical for maintaining a proper posture and swing plane. Also, a strong core will help protect your back and reduce pack pain. The rotator cuff is an important muscle in producing power. Strengthening this muscle will help reduce injury as well. And don’t forget good grip strength helps in those off center shots.

Flexibility: Flexible shoulders, back and hips can lengthen your golf swing to gain distance. Flexibility will also help with a smooth swing rotation and coil instead of that ugly tilt.. Lastly, tight hip flexors are common and can affect upper body rotation and lower back pain.

Power: Power comes from the lower body. That power must be transferred through a stable core to the upper body. Weight shift is another critical element in producing power.

Balance: Postural balance is necessary during weight transfer. The average professional golfer can balance on 1 foot for an average of 25 seconds, while the average amateur can balance for only 5 seconds.

Muscle Balance: Common imbalances in the muscles such as the right side being significantly stronger that the left-side, are often the cause of injury or soreness.

Endurance: Endurance will help to maintain focus throughout a round. When our muscles get tired we begin to compensate our movements using the wrong muscles to produce movement. And that is not good for your golf swing plane.

2. Do you provide golf lessons?

We do not provide golf lessons. We condition your body for the golf swing. Golf lessons will help you develop your golf skills. We will help you hit the ball harder, with more consistency and play with less injury.
